This short documentary features artist, photographer, and metalsmith April Ottey. April designs and creates jewelry with natural elements in her home studio in Port Townsend. Using found objects in nature—beach stones, flowers, bark, seaweed, and more—April crafts unique jewelry that showcases the beauty of the nature. She uses a unique process of casting these natural objects in a mold, then pouring liquid metals—primarily silver and gold—into the mold. This process creates interesting, handcrafted jewelry pieces, which celebrate nature.
